Biography
Dr Gautam Raj Jain Is a highly qualified expert in the areas covering entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystem, business development, institutional building, assessment and evaluation of institutional support systems, organisation development, small and medium enterprises and private sector promotion strategy and policy, training curriculum and manual, training of trainers and entrepreneurs for the development for MSME and entrepreneurship in educational systems in Universities and TVET colleges.
Institutionalised self-sustaining Business and Entrepreneurship training, business development services for start-ups with over 90% success rate and performance improvements of MSME owners and over 100 training of trainers in Kenya, Uganda, Benin, Cambodia and South Sudan. Introduced entrepreneurship in educational systems of Uganda. He has established three business promotion centres and academic centres in Africa, South Asia and India as one stop shop for business development services and training. His work contributed Uganda gain the top rank on entrepreneurial index in 2004 (GEM).
He has set up and led for seven years the most innovative Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Incubation Centre in India supported by the Department of Science and Technology. Initiated training and mentorship support services, which included venture capitalists, IPR, and regulatory systems. Over 55 innovative enterprises were created as a result of the services offered by the centre.
Prepared several concept, research and strategy papers for different clients. These included industrialisation in South Africa, food processing industry by women in South Africa, framework and strategy for business environment and support systems for MSMEs in Kenya, innovation ecosystems in developing countries, business development policy and strategy for Palestine, business confidence index, competitiveness strategy framework for Palestine, SMEs policy and strategy, best practices in SMEs and innovation, global best practices in entrepreneurship in TVET.
Initiated several initiatives for higher educational partnership in UK and worked closely with British Council (India) for over three years in 1987-1991 and later in 2005-11. This including fellowship of British council to visit over six institution for partnership, visiting faculty to Essex University, conducted two major international conference with British council, Essex University, Leeds and OECD, France. Published four book on entrepreneurship and educational initiative and innovation and organisational strategy.
He ha strong leadership, persistence, data analysis, public speaking, creativity and innovation, analytical, communication, result dissemination, and flexibility skills as a result of over 35 implemented contractual assignments. Knowing the international working standards of humanitarian organizations, with their partnerships, cooperation in day-to-day project implementation will be an added benefit to this assignment.
